Raid logs from the loft.

We break down the raids, tear down the hardware and dig through the indie backlog — long-form gaming writing with none of the hype, filed from a converted warehouse on Rose Street.

Who we are

A three-person desk, not a content farm.

ArcaneQuestRaiders started as a raid-scheduling spreadsheet and a shared Google Doc. Ten years on we still publish everything ourselves — no aggregated news, no AI rewrites, no review scores traded for early keys. If a piece runs, someone here played the thing to completion first.

How we work

Every guide gets played to the wall.

Our raid breakdowns are logged run by run, our hardware tear-downs sit on the bench for a fortnight of real use, and our indie deep-dives credit the developers by name. Corrections are posted openly and dated. It's slower, but it's the reason people keep coming back.

What we cover

Six columns we run every week.

New pieces drop Tuesday and Friday, 9am AEST. Everything on the site is free — the optional Raiders membership is AUD $6/month and just kills the ads.

Raid Logs

Turn-by-turn breakdowns of endgame raids and mythic bosses, with pull timers, comp notes and the wipes we earned them from.

Hardware Tear-downs

Two-week bench tests of controllers, mice, GPUs and handhelds — thermals, latency and whether the thing survives a week of real play.

Indie Deep-dives

Long reads on the games the algorithm buries — with developer interviews and a spoiler-free verdict up top for the impatient.

Patch Watch

Plain-English changelogs for the big live-service titles — what actually got nerfed, and whether it's worth reinstalling this week.

Community Guides

Reader-submitted builds, routes and speedrun splits, fact-checked by the desk before they run. Contributors keep their byline.

Local Scene

Melbourne meet-ups, arcade nights on Brunswick Street and the Fitzroy dev collective — the stuff you won't find on the international sites.

The crew

Three people and a very loud espresso machine.

Editor & Raid Lead

Clears mythic content on Tuesday nights and writes it up before Wednesday's coffee. Ten years of MMO end-game and no patience for filler.

Hardware & Bench

Runs the bench in the back room. If it has a fan or a trigger, he's measured its latency and probably taken it apart on camera.

Indie & Features

Chases down the games nobody's covering and the developers behind them. Curates our Friday indie column and the Fitzroy dev nights.

Community & Fact-check

Reads every submission and every correction. Keeps the guides honest and the comment section civil — a full-time job on its own.

Reader praise

What the raiders say.

★★★★★
"Their raid log got my guild our first mythic clear after six weeks stuck on the same boss. The pull timing notes are gold — nobody else writes them this carefully."
— Liam K., Carlton · March 2026
★★★★★
"I bought a handheld off the back of their two-week tear-down instead of the hype reviews. They were dead right about the battery and the stick drift. Saved me a return."
— Sarah W., Fitzroy North · January 2026
★★★★★
"The indie deep-dive on a game I'd never heard of became my favourite of the year. This is the only gaming site I actually pay the six bucks to support."
— Tomás G., Collingwood · February 2026
